We've always strived to have a positive impact on the communities in which we live. Bendon has been a partner of Thread Together since early 2020. Since then, we have donated over 100,000 pieces of lingerie to women in need.We chose Thread Together as an ethical response to our fashion waste, and as a way to afford people dignity during difficult times in their lives by delivering them new quality clothing, lingerie, and shoes.
Alongside other value-aligned partners, including Commonwealth Bank, Goodman Foundation, and Retail Apparel Group, four Thread Together utility vans stocked with apparel and accessories hit the road in June 2020, travelling to communities including Wagga Wagga, the North and South Coast of NSW, as well as metro Sydney. The initiative assisted those who lost their homes due to the devastating bushfires that hit Australia in late 2019.
UPDATE: 16 MARCH 2022
In response to the recent flooding disasters across Australia that has damaged more than 5,500 homes with an additional 2,800 homes being declared uninhabitable, Thread Together has mobilised many emergency clothing hubs and mobile wardrobes to affected areas in Queensland and New South Wales. As our continued commitment to support Thread Together's brilliant initiative, we are super excited about the new shipment of 14,000pc of Bendon Lingerie bras, briefs and crop tops are heading over to AU Thread Together next week.
SUPPORT
We urge you to to join us in our efforts to support the affected families and individuals. A donation of just $5 will help Thread Together provide brand new clothes to a person impacted by the devastating floods.
Furthermore, The Wilson Foundation has generously agreed to match all donations up to $50,000. This financial support will provide new wardrobes to 20,000 Australians in need in Northern NSW and South East Queensland.
Alternatively, you can sign up to volunteer this March/April here.
